New York’s office market is home to the most tech workers: CBRE report
A new CBRE report shows New York's office market now hosts more tech workers than San Francisco's for the first time in 13 years, with 394,300 tech jobs versus 375,730. AI is a major driver: AI-related roles grew 45% in the past year across the U.S. and Canada, now accounting for nearly a third of all U.S. tech job listings. San Francisco still leads in pure AI jobs, and AI companies are fueling office leasing recovery there.
The story there is that there’s been cuts in the Bay Area, so the tech industry has contracted the size of the tech talent workforce, and the finance sector [in New York] has hired a lot of tech talent and a lot of AI workers.
