Olympian Jenny Simpson Ends Running Career After Cardiac Arrest Diagnosis

Three-time U.S. Olympian Jenny Simpson announced her running career is over after being diagnosed with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), a rare inherited heart condition. Simpson, 39, suffered cardiac arrest in June while pacing a mile race in Raleigh, North Carolina, and was placed on life support before recovering. She shared the news on Instagram, saying recovery is going well but running is now dangerous.
