Paradigm has released a web game and an interactive explorer based on the paper 'The Economics of Recursive Self-Improvement' to illustrate the dynamics of AI R&D. Players manage an AI lab, investing in compute, data, and labor to achieve self-sustaining acceleration. The tools are calibrated for pedagogy, not prediction, and highlight key insights such as weak links, spurts of progress, and the importance of parameterization.
