Maryland Closes More of Cunningham Falls State Park After Second Beaver Attack

Following a second beaver attack at Cunningham Falls State Park, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources has closed additional areas around Hunting Creek Lake. A 19-year-old fisherman was bitten on the ankle on Wednesday, and the beaver was captured and euthanized for rabies testing. This comes after a July 26 attack on a 13-year-old swimmer, which tested positive for rabies. Officials are investigating a possible rabies outbreak and have closed the Houck Day Use Area, boat ramp, and Big Hunting Creek above the lake until further notice.
Beaver attacks on people are rare and are thought to primarily involve rabid animals.

A disease that propagates itself by making animals want to bite other animals. I suppose rabies is the base phenomenon behind the zombie meme. It's also a good description of a large fraction of social media posts.
