Vimgolf.ai - Master Vim through interactive level-based challenges
Show HN: Vimgolf.ai – Learn Vim by playing through a map of levels

Vimgolf.ai transforms the steep learning curve of Vim into an engaging, game-like experience. Instead of reading dry documentation, users learn by editing directly in a real nvim environment, racing against a 'vimbot' to clear levels with the fewest keystrokes. The platform features a comprehensive skill map with 72 skills and 216 levels, covering everything from basic cursor movement to advanced macros. With a free tier for beginners and a one-time payment premium option, it offers a practical, hands-on approach to mastering one of the world's fastest text editors.
Learn by editing, not by reading. Clear levels in real nvim, race the vimbot on keystrokes, and the commands stick because you used them.

I'm all for the people who want to use nerdy software like Vim to do things in their own special way without ever touching a mouse, but I'm amused thinking, how dense is the UX of your text editor if people are coming up with creative forms of training to learn it?

Uses unholy amounts of CPU making my laptop's fans spin out of control. Editing is very slow, too. Not really a good impression of vim. I'm still going to recommend people to use vimtutor to get used to vim.

The pricing says one time payment but the price is $25 for 6 months.
Is this 6 months of access or 6 months of updates and lifetime access to those updated versions?
