Silo - IDE for managing multiple coding agents and projects simultaneously

Silo is an open-source IDE designed for developers juggling multiple projects and AI coding agents. Unlike traditional editors like VS Code or Cursor that focus on a single workspace, Silo keeps every project alive with its own persistent terminals, layouts, and running agents. Switch between workspaces instantly without losing context or restarting processes. Built on a local-first philosophy, it offers a free, MIT-licensed alternative with a powerful extension SDK, allowing users to customize their workflow or build extensions using natural language prompts with Claude Code.

Silo is built around the opposite model. Open as many project workspaces as you need and tab between them instantly. Each workspace keeps its terminals running, its layout intact, and its agents working — exactly as you left it.

Consider optimizing your demo for laptop user screen sizes and checking contrast of all elements. A lot of things on the demo are difficult to read fast due to low contrast, which makes animations using them less useful to show off what is actually happening.

I understood that you was in the VSCode dev team.

"I left using VSCode to build an IDE ..." is a most honest claim.

How do you solve the “many agents one git repo” problem?
