Getting the Fairphone 6 Wide Camera Working on Mainline Linux
Fairphone 6 wide camera experimental Linux support
I tackled the challenge of enabling the Fairphone 6 ultra-wide camera on mainline Linux for QR scanning. By porting existing drivers for the Qualcomm milos SoC and fixing a critical bus width configuration error, I successfully delivered raw frames to libcamera. This experimental work proves that even without manufacturer support, modern hardware can be unlocked for alternative operating systems through careful reverse engineering.
This suggests that, on Qualcomm hardware, a block that reads as zero may be missing a clock or power domain on its access path.

It's a pity those IMX and ISOCELL sensor chips are unobtainable from Digikey.
Anyone with experience buying them in smaller quantities?

have fairphone looked into supporting GrapheneOS? what exactly is missing there other than "it's not Pixel"?

I wish one day I could do cool stuff like that. Kudos!

Has anyone had any luck in writing drivers using LLMs?
It’s one of those areas of software that is very niche and no one wants to do it.
And it’s also relatively testable
