FableCut - Zero-dependency browser video editor driven by AI agents

FableCut is a powerful, zero-dependency non-linear video editor that runs entirely in your browser. Unlike traditional tools, it exposes its entire timeline as a JSON document, enabling AI agents like Claude Code to edit video in real-time via MCP or REST APIs. With features like live-reloading UI, beat detection, AI background removal, and conflict-safe concurrent editing, FableCut allows humans and AI to collaborate seamlessly on the same project. It requires only Node.js and a Chromium browser, making it an accessible yet professional solution for automated video production.

Most 'AI video' tools hide the edit behind an API. FableCut flips that: the project file is the interface.

This is pretty dang cool but I guess I was hoping to see some very clever use of vision and maybe waveform analysis to give the model "eyes and ears" to edit audio and video. V2

    Reminds me of https://www.screenkite.com/

The AI powered video editors are fun.

Cool concept, will try it out! I've had decent results with computer use operating conventional editing tools, but being able to directly edit JSON project files is a solid optimization and opens up a lot of opportunities with things like modular templating.

You should strongly consider using Mediabunny to do all of the rendering client-side!

Yeah I'm sure you need fable for the heavy reasoning task of editing tiktoks
