I 3D-Printed a Foxtail-Proof Helmet for My Dog

After a foxtail weed sent his dog Hildegard to the emergency vet, Amos Dudley designed a custom protective helmet. Using an iPhone 3D scan and CAD software, he printed a shell with replaceable mesh inserts for ears and nose, plus a clear lens. The helmet fits well and works as a GoPro mount, but other dogs find it threatening, so it's reserved for hikes.
