We filed a GDPR complaint against dict.cc for requesting consent to share user data with 1,741 partner companies. Reading all associated privacy policies would take over 170 hours, making truly informed consent impossible. We are urging the Austrian Data Protection Authority to order data deletion and impose fines to stop this widespread tracking practice.
It would take days or even weeks to properly read and understand the data protection policies of 1,741 companies. It is ridiculous to assume that this would allow for an informed decision.
