What designing 54 computer science cards taught me about graphic design

I created Algodeck, a physical deck of 54 cards distilling complex computer science concepts into accessible illustrations. By using Python and Drawbot instead of traditional tools, I discovered that graphic design and software engineering both rely on system-oriented thinking to solve communication and information problems. This project proved that constraints and code can foster creativity, offering a tangible alternative to screen-based learning in the age of LLMs.
"Graphic design solves a communication problem, and software engineering solves an information problem."
