Recreating Pong Wars on the Commodore 64 with Assembly Code
Pong Wars on the Commodore 64

Inspired by a JavaScript recreation of an eternal battle between day and night balls, I decided to rebuild the game on the Commodore 64. Starting with zero assembly experience, I navigated the machine's memory map and raster interrupts to render a 20x20 blockfield. This journey explores the technical challenges of calculating ball movements, handling bounces, and managing scores within the tight constraints of 8-bit hardware.
"If van Gilst saw this online and had to recreate it in JavaScript, and now I've seen it online, I have to recreate it on the Commodore 64, right?"
