Building a Vintage-Style Calculator with Panel Meters and Floating Point Math
Panel meter calculator with floating point

I built a unique calculator using six SO-45 panel voltmeters and a vintage edgewise meter to display results with a retro aesthetic. The enclosure is crafted from maple wood with a custom CNC-machined keypad featuring NKK switches. Powered by an AVR128DA28 microcontroller, the device handles fixed-point arithmetic to manage fractions and negative numbers without the pitfalls of floating-point errors.
"Calculator UI is hell."
