Teardown: A Generic 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub That Wasn't

I bought a cheap 7-port USB 3.0 hub from AliExpress expecting decent performance, but the teardown revealed a deceptive design. Only one port actually supports USB 3.0, while the other six are limited to USB 2.0 speeds. Worse, the build quality is flimsy with missing solder, and the power circuit lacks protection, risking damage to my computer if an external supply is connected.
"It's basically a USB 3.0 extension cable with a hub attached on the USB 2.0 lines."
