Worms: The Director's Cut Gets a 30th Anniversary Expansion Pack

To mark the 30th anniversary of Worms: The Director's Cut, a new expansion pack adds 40+ levels, 50+ sample packs, 10 DIY terrains, and new teams. A remix album features nine tracks inspired by Bjørn Lynne's original theme, and an online tool lets you create custom maps, terrains, and teams in your browser. Curated by Andy Davidson and Ben Paddon, the project celebrates the classic 1997 game.

THE FUTURE OF YESTERDAY'S WORMS TODAY (OR WHENEVER IS GOOD FOR YOU)

Anyone got any thoughts on which Worms I should be buying on Steam?

Worms Armageddon is on there, which is the one I remember from my childhood. Or am I better off with Worms WMD?

I had Worms United (I think it was called) which was basically an expansion to the original DOS game that allowed for custom levels and SFX.

I created some worms sound packs loosely based on some of the pop songs on that era.

    Fun times.

I never quite got into the later Worms games. Visually they looked great and the controls felt similar, but it was all a bit too cartoonish for my liking. However that might just have been because I was used to the original DOS games. But even now, I still crave that pixel art aesthetic in games (not just Worms).

Fun looking at the past history of that site.

The creator Andy Davidson has been posting some more fun stuff about worms over on X https://x.com/totalwormage/status/2087263286962094258

Not exactly sure what this is.

But I'm so excited to play Worms with my kids when they're old enough. My sister and I _endlessly_ played the same level in a worms 2 demo almost 30 years ago.
