Zellij 0.45.0 introduces dedicated nested session handling, letting users run Zellij inside Zellij without doubled status bars or keybinding conflicts. It also implements the Kitty graphics protocol for rendering images in panes, adds a mobile web UI with touch controls, and redesigns the default interface with cleaner title frames and stacked lists. Other improvements include command-based scrolling, per-client tab sizes, and a focus-last-pane action.
Running Zellij inside Zellij has often been an awkward experience: doubled status bars, keybindings going to the wrong session and a lock mode dance to get anything done.
