GIMP Development Update
GIMP's August 2026 development update reveals major progress toward GIMP 3.4, including a new zipped XML project format to replace the aging XCF, spectral blending for MyPaint brushes, non-destructive filters for layer masks and gradients, and improved PSD support with editable text layers. The update also highlights native file chooser dialogs, UI icon overhauls, and performance fixes.
