Mole is a deep-research agent that runs as a single static binary on your machine, using your own API keys. It decomposes questions, searches, reads sources, extracts claims, verifies each quote against its source, and writes cited answers. With an enforced budget (dollar or token), it guarantees no overshoot. It also offers a privacy boundary for local data analysis, and speaks MCP for integration with coding agents. Available via script, Homebrew, AUR, .deb, or from source.
Every claim carries a quote, checked against the source. A claim whose quote does not appear verbatim in the page it was mined from is discarded at extraction, before it can reach an answer.
