PBS loses 70 years of TV history after cloud storage vendor goes defunct

Nine PBS, a public television station, has filed a lawsuit against Iron Mountain, the data center hosting its archival materials, after its contracted cloud storage vendor, Open Source Storage (OSS), went defunct. The station lost access to over 50TB of data, including 70 years of programming, when OSS abruptly cut off service. Nine PBS is seeking to ensure the preservation and retrieval of its historical archives.
