Tailscale Traces Database Corruption to 16y/o SQLite WAL-Reset Bug

Tailscale's control plane suffered repeated SQLite database corruption outages, traced to a 16-year-old bug in SQLite's WAL reset logic. The bug, triggered during checkpoints, caused committed transactions to vanish. Tailscale and SQLite developers collaborated, using custom transaction logging and a new debugging tool, to pinpoint the issue.
