Commodore 8-Bit 5¼" Disk Images
A new web tool from masswerk.at offers a disk image inspector and D64 composer for Commodore 8-bit 5¼" disk images. The inspector lets you browse D64, D80, and D82 images, view BAM and file data, and export files. The composer lets you assemble D64 images from local files, with options to rename, reorder, and set file types. This is part of a rewrite of the PET 2001 emulator's IEEE-488 bus emulation, aiming for transparent file handling. The post also explains the structure of Commodore disk images, including track layouts and BAM encoding.
