However, an investigation reveals that the listed PhD reviewers are AI-generated and don't exist, while real methodologists are used without consent. The company's phone, email, and chat communications are all AI-generated, and it even uses AI to respond to inquiries. Despite its claims, Research Gold appears to be entirely AI-driven, raising concerns about AI's impact on academic publishing.
“I do not work for Research Gold, and I never agreed to be listed as one of their methodologists. I have no relationship with this company,” Berrio told me. “They are using my name, photo, and bio without my permission. I'm in the process of documenting the site and will be sending them a formal takedown request.”
