Mark Zuckerberg's $300 million superyacht, Launchpad, was reportedly nearby when a skiff ran out of fuel in Alaskan waters, but it did not respond to requests for assistance. Another vessel, Wilderness Legacy, came to the rescue, and its captain told passengers that Zuckerberg's yacht had refused to help, prompting boos. Zuckerberg was not on board, and a spokesperson said the crew was on a different radio channel and the skiff was not in distress. The incident adds to Zuckerberg's public image struggles, following Meta's recent fines for harming children.
Frankly, if I was Mark Zuckerberg I would be absolutely ecstatic at a chance to do something helpful for someone in need and maybe get some good PR out of it.
