The iceberg towers above the water, cracks, and gradually breaks apart, triggering ice avalanches and waves. As sections fall away, the iceberg becomes unstable and eventually rolls, exposing its darker, rougher underside. This event occurred near the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ilulissat Icefjord, filled with ice from the fast-moving Sermeq Kujalleq glacier. No injuries were reported.
When its existing position is no longer stable, the iceberg may suddenly rotate into a new orientation.

I would have thought it would generate enormous wave, but that's clearly not the case. I think some of the biggest waves was generated by a mountain sliding or collapsing in the sea. I expected something similar here. Anyone know why not?

I'd have assumed it would be colder and more compacted (being toward the bottom and further under water), and therefore harder.
