Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (August 2026)

I'm looking for work and want to share my information with potential employers. I'll post my location, remote preference, willingness to relocate, technologies, résumé/CV, and email. I hope to connect with companies seeking my skills.

Senior Software Engineer with experience building and scaling real-world financial systems at Nasdaq. Worked across the stack with Java/Spring Boot, React, and SQL to deliver high-performance trading infrastructure and leading onboarding for billion-dollar enterprise clients. Strong foundation in mathematics (BSc from the University of Toronto) with a deep interest in data structures, algorithms, and computational theory. Comfortable owning features end-to-end, collaborating and building scalable, reliable software. Looking to contribute to solving complex, high-impact problems.
Senior iOS & Product Engineer with 18+ years of iOS development and 20+ years of software engineering experience. I’ve led development of award-winning apps featured by Apple, The New York Times, and Forbes, and have worked remotely with distributed teams for over a decade. I’m looking for Senior/Lead native iOS roles where I can own product quality from architecture through implementation, with a strong focus on performance, user experience, and shipping polished apps.
16 years shipping production systems across startups and enterprises, including 2.5 years onsite at US enterprises ADP and Time Warner Cable. I build agentic AI systems that run in production daily and full-stack platforms that serve thousands of users at scale. What I've shipped: 1. Multi-agent feature development system on LangGraph, runs daily in production. Supervised agent team, Postgres checkpointing, pgvector RAG, custom MCP servers, LangSmith eval harness, human approval gates. 2. https://turtlemint.com, insurance platform scaled to 10,000+ monthly users 3. https://ontosight.ai, life sciences AI platform, document analysis and verification workflows 4. Enterprise network management platform serving real-time dashboards across 10,000+ device networks 5. AI-powered development tools used daily by distributed engineering teams I own architecture decisions, lead and mentor engineering teams, and stay hands-on. Comfortable operating at startup speed and enterprise complexity. Open to contract work, fractional technical lead engagements, or the right full-time remote opportunity.
22, self-taught. Won a $100K Meta Llama Impact Grant for Bluai and presented it at LlamaCon on 2025 Bluai (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bluai.app&hl=en) is a hurricane early-warning app live on Google Play in Mexico, built offline-first because during a hurricane the network is the first thing to go. An online RAG pipeline and an on-device Llama 3.2 (ExecuTorch, NPU-accelerated) sit behind one interface, picking 1B or 3B based on device RAM, so the UI never knows which brain answered. When everything is down it falls back to Bluetooth/Wi-Fi mesh chat over a multi-hop wire protocol. Email me one paragraph about something broken or missing in your product. I'll build a working prototype and send you the repo plus a short video of it running, within 48 hours. Free. No call, no interview, no invoice. If you like it, we talk. If not, you keep the code. Flexible on compensation for the right team. I'm optimizing for who I'd be learning from, more than thinking in numbers.
I’m a technical founder and solo software engineer with over 4 years of experience building and maintaining a consumer Android application that has surpassed 1 million installs. I’ve independently handled nearly every aspect of the product lifecycle, including software architecture, mobile development, backend integrations, release management, Google Play compliance, monetization, analytics, growth strategy, and long-term maintenance. I enjoy solving product and engineering problems, planning features, designing scalable architectures, and turning ideas into shipped products. I’m comfortable taking ownership, working directly with founders, and moving quickly in small teams. I’m an AI-native developer and use tools such as Claude and ChatGPT extensively to accelerate development while maintaining production-quality code. I’m looking for a remote role as a Founding Engineer, Product Engineer, Full-Stack Engineer, Mobile Engineer, or Technical Generalist at an early-stage startup where I can contribute beyond just writing code.
Final-year CS student and backend developer with a systems-programming leaning. I like working with backend systems, More than that I am eager to learn from anyone. Apart from my coursework I have worked on - crawlers, TUIs and rate-limited APIs. Open source / recent work: Contributing to the Linux kernel - submitted patches to drivers/staging/rtl8723bs/ (checkpatch cleanups), currently working through review feedback with the maintainers. Built web_weaver, an async Rust web crawler from scratch: tokio-based concurrency, per-domain rate limiting, robots.txt compliance, SQLite + FTS5 storage, crawl resumption via a persistent queue. First of a planned three-part research/search tool. Comfortable across the backend stack: Go and Rust for services, Postgres/Mongo for storage, some exposure to Elixir and Zig. Based in India (IST), but can shift my hours to get a solid 3-4hr overlap with EU or US mornings - happy to discuss specifics. Looking for a remote backend or systems-adjacent role at an established company or a startup with real funding/traction/team - not a pre-idea-stage solo founder project or a "let's see if this works" 3-month gig. Open to relocating for the right role if the company is based in India. Happy to do a proper interview process; if you're reaching out, a link to your company/product and team size is appreciated so we can both save time.

Full-stack engineer, B.S. Math-CS from UC San Diego

I build and run GratMap (https://gratmap.com) a live production web app I designed, built, secured, deployed, and operate solo. React + Mapbox front end, Express/Node + MariaDB back end, on a Linux server I administer myself. Two parts I'd point at: a venue-scoring pipeline that shrinks each venue's median toward the global median in proportion to how much data it has, so a two-report venue can't outrank a two-hundred-report one; and a pre-launch security audit checking for breached-password screening via HIBP k-anonymity, rate limiting, JWT in httpOnly/sameSite cookies, ORM parameterization.

Before that I was the founding engineer at Citmit, a construction-permitting SaaS startup. I joined when they had a product plan and no engineers, built the initial codebase and infrastructure from scratch, and led a team of four through alpha. I implemented Stripe billing, an S3 document pipeline, and the application-side integration for their LLM feature.

I work in Claude Code every day […]
