Andy Pavlo joins ClickHouse to establish ClickHouse Labs
Andy Pavlo, a renowned database researcher and professor at Carnegie Mellon, is joining ClickHouse to lead a new research team, ClickHouse Labs. The lab aims to bridge academic research and industry engineering, focusing on advancing ClickHouse and its PostgreSQL offering. Pavlo plans to accelerate the validation of the engineering team's backlog of ideas and explore how databases can support AI and agentic technologies.
This will be a next-level collaboration like when Killer Mike hooked up with El-P to create a hip-hop supergroup.
