I built Lerd to give PHP developers a frictionless local environment on Linux and macOS without Docker or sudo. It uses Podman to run rootless containers, offering automatic .test domains, per-project PHP and Node isolation, and one-command TLS. With a built-in Web UI and Terminal dashboard, Lerd handles everything from database wiring to AI integration via the Model Context Protocol, ensuring a clean and efficient workflow.
