Kraid passes 800,000 Vulkan CTS tests, now a real compiler
Kraid is a now a real compiler

Collabora's Kraid compiler for the Panfrost driver stack now passes all 800,000 Vulkan CTS tests for compute shaders, including some that the old compiler fails. While vertex and fragment shading are still in progress, the team has implemented an SSA-based register allocator, spiller, 64-bit operations, swizzle support, and more. Code quality is still poor by design to expose bugs, but the foundation is set for optimization.
Kraid is now a real compiler.

I'm very confused as to what Kraid actually does and who it's for. It's a compiler of some sort, but for what? GLSL? What's significant about it beyond the target backends?

What devices are likely to benefit from Kraid? Are Arm Mali GPUs mostly in Android phones?

Next step is obviously to build Ridley
