Rauno's Field Notes: Refining Vercel Project Cards and Context Menus
Rauno's Field Notes #2

I detail our recent UI refinements for Vercel project cards, focusing on reducing vertical space by removing redundant data like branch names. We also tested replacing explicit buttons with context menus to improve surface area usage, mitigating discoverability issues by keeping actions in the detail view. Finally, we redesigned the widget area to support dynamic, visually distinct characters for metrics like Real Experience Score, solving layout challenges by utilizing a two-row grid.
Of course there's a tiny issue with affordance and learning curves yada yada yada... but apps like Linear make it work, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
