Cloning Mifare Classic Cards via Proxmark3
I decided to clone my apartment's MIFARE Classic access cards to avoid high replacement fees. After learning that the CRYPTO-1 cipher is broken, I used a Proxmark3 device with Iceman firmware to bypass security. By running automated attacks like dictionary, darkside, and nested, I successfully recovered the keys and dumped the card data, proving these widely used systems are insecure.
The entire security model is considered insecure by modern standards, despite this they are one of the most widely deployed contactless smart card types in the world.
