PartialString: A Free Physical Modelling Synthesiser for Strings

PartialString – A finite-difference time-domain physical modelling synthesiser

I present PartialString, a free synthesiser that simulates plucked strings using the finite-difference time-domain method. You can excite the string anywhere and adjust pickup positions to create unique sounds. The software automatically manages voice polyphony to prevent CPU overload, making it accessible on various machines while reviving my past research in physical modelling.
