Australia Launches Free Daytime Electricity for All Homes via Solar Sharer Offer
Australia is offering free daytime electricity

Starting July 2026, households in NSW, South Australia, and South-East Queensland can access three hours of free daytime electricity through the Solar Sharer Offer. You do not need solar panels or home ownership, just a smart meter and an opt-in. While a 24 kWh daily cap was added to ensure sustainability, shifting usage like EV charging or running appliances during peak solar hours can save hundreds of dollars annually.
"Until now, renters and apartment dwellers have largely been locked out of the benefits of Australia's solar boom."
