Vinton Cerf, the legendary architect of TCP/IP, is stepping down as Google's chief internet evangelist after more than two decades. While celebrating his historic career, Cerf warned that the rise of AI agents will demand formal, precise interoperability standards rather than relying on ambiguous natural language communication.

"Imagine a bunch of agents talking to each other in natural language, you know, that's kind of terrifying."
