I analyzed the robots.txt files of the top 10,000 sites and found a critical blind spot. While publishers rushed to block training crawlers like GPTBot and ClaudeBot in 2023, they largely ignore the answer-time fetchers used for live responses. Most sites that block training bots say nothing about the bots that pull content for immediate answers, missing the chance to control the emerging pay-per-answer economy.
